The Circular Classroom is a social enterprise committed to creating net-zero classrooms in Singapore.
We focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and waste generated in the education system.
We train and mobilise students, parents and lifelong learners in the community
to play an active role in advancing Singapore's sustainable development agenda.
Our work contributes towards the education targets of the Singapore Green Plan 2030
and the Government's efforts to become a zero-waste nation.
Our main focus is textile waste and to find solutions for the reuse, repurposing and recycling of pre-loved school uniforms.
Over 420,000 students are enrolled in Primary, Secondary, Mixed Level Schools or Junior Colleges in Singapore.
Based on a Pilot Study by SMU-X in 2023, over 70% of students own 3 or more sets of school uniforms.
About 86% of school uniforms end up in general waste or are donated to organisations where further usage is mostly unknown.
Parent Support Groups (PSGs) across Singapore are doing amazing work to support sustainability in schools - from recycling drives to greener events and community initiatives. In support of this year’s Go Green SG, Singapore Management University (SMU-X) and The Circular Classroom are running a short survey to map PSG led initiatives, understand and explore how PSGs can collaborate and learn from one another.
It takes just 8–10 minutes, and your input will contribute to an insight report for PSGs, schools and stakeholders at MOE and MSE for future possible initiatives.
Here is the link to the survey.
The survey is for (Co)Chairpersons to fill out the questions on behalf of their PSGs.
Thank you for being part of Singapore’s sustainability journey!
It is the Year of the Horse and we are celebrating with a horse artwork created through quilling and made from strips of pre-loved school uniforms. From classroom wear to festive artwork, from schools to homes. Let us move forward this year with purpose.
Here is to a year of creativity, circularity, and community impact.
A big thank you to our seniors from the THK Active Ageing Centres at Cassia and Kaki Bukit who helped with the artwork.
Do you still have pre-loved school uniforms? Don't throw them away! We will organise two public uniform donation drives in March and April .

Parents are key agents for change in the transformation to a circular education system. We aim to set up a "Parents for Sustainability Network" and collaborate with Parent Support Groups across Singapore to connect homes and schools through sustainability initiatives. Check out our ongoing Go Green PSGs 2026 project and be part of the community.
Join us as a Pilot School! The Circular Classroom is partnering with Final Year students from Singapore Management University to build a scalable Digital Inventory & Waste Tracking Platform for pre-loved school uniforms. Designed for schools and PSGs, the system enables structured tracking of collection, reuse and repurposing, with real-time dashboards and AI-assisted insights.
We are currently looking for 10 pilot schools to co-develop and test the platform as part of a wider SG Eco Fund-supported initiative advancing the SG Green Plan 2030.

We aim to hear and share 20,000 views and voices, but we are not there yet, so: students and parents - it's your turn! You can contribute to making Singapore a greener place and we invite you to be a part of a transformative journey! Give us 7 minutes of your time and share your thoughts and practices about Sustainable Consumption in a survey - initiated by Singapore Management University students and The Circular Classroom.
