Sustainability Workshop @Zhenghua Primary School 2 April 2025

Dates:

02 Apr 2025

Zhenghua Primary School

The Circular Classroom held a special workshop at Zhenghua Primary School. We taught primary students how to turn old school uniforms into something brand new—phone-carrying pouches! The goal? Rescue textile waste and start getting to think about sustainability in a fun, creative and hands-on way. With scissors, pins and a sewing machine, students learned the basics of cutting, pinning and stitching. For many of them, it was their first time operating a sewing machine! With all the materials that go into producing a phone they aren't the most eco-friendly items- but how we carry them can be! These upcycled pouches gave old fabric a second life. More than just sewing, the students showed teamwork. They helped each other learn and execute side by side. The students were proud of what they created—and we were proud of them too. A big thank you to Zhenghua Primary School for the great collaboration! Let's keep up the progress on sustainability one stitch at a time!
