"Green Week is not just a date on the calendar: it is a movement toward a greener future. While it is not easy being 'green', together we can make a significant difference by embracing sustainable practices within your own spheres of influence and spreading awareness to those around you." We were happy to receive this message from the Dunman High School Eco Stewardship Team which organised the Green Week in school from 12 to 16 August 2024. From the Art Department, the Eco Council, the Y4 SIV Teams, the School's Finance Team, Teachers and the Student Community, everyone contributed to this school-wide event which was designed with one key objective in mind: "to plant seeds of diverse ideas and approaches towards sustainability, hoping they will germinate in time to come." The Circular Classroom was part of the programme and set up an activity booth on 12 August 2024 - engaging the students in sustainability quizzes and conversations on sustainable consumption and green practices in school and at home. Throughout the Green Week at DHS, we also set up our exhibition at the library where students could also learn more about sustainability and the textile industry, including their own school uniforms.
