From Stage to Sustainability: environmental protection is about interdisciplinarity! On 18 November 2024, we visited again Bendemeer Primary School and welcomed 40 students (Level 3 to Level 6) to a repurposing workshop. All students were members of the school band and we jointly repurposed their old band uniforms. The program combined hands-on learning with sustainability, teaching students about the environmental impact of textile waste and the importance of repurposing. Students transformed their old band uniforms jackets into practical items like pouches and bottle holders. For many, it was their first time sewing, but they quickly found confidence in their new skills. The workshop wasn’t just about crafting — it showed how small actions contribute to sustainability. By the end of the day, students left with a sense of accomplishment and a fresh perspective on how they can make a difference for the planet.
