Some of our creations are especially popular with our seniors, and our little tote bag made from pre-loved school uniform shorts has always been a firm favourite! So, for this month's workshop at THK Active Ageing Centre Kaki Bukit, we decided to make one with each senior. Using old school uniform shorts as our starting point, we transformed them into practical little tote bags, giving the fabric a completely new purpose. What makes these bags so special is that we can retain much of the original uniform, including the pockets and other details. With some cutting, sewing and a little creativity, a pair of shorts becomes a handy bag for everyday use. It was lovely to work alongside each senior, step by step, and see their bags take shape. While everyone followed the same basic design, each finished bag had its own little character. And the best part? Everyone could take home something they had helped create themselves. Another wonderful afternoon of good company, creativity and giving pre-loved school uniforms a second life!
