Through a new collaboration with ITE College East, 20 students joined The Circular Classroom as part of their Service Learning Programme, supporting our senior friends over a period of five months. This marked the beginning of a meaningful intergenerational journey, bringing young people and seniors together through creativity, sustainability and shared learning. What we particularly enjoyed was seeing how naturally the students connected with the seniors. Each student found a senior buddy to work alongside, helping with cutting, sewing and assembling products from pre-loved school uniforms. It was heartwarming to see how much the seniors enjoyed the company of the young volunteers, often sharing their own sewing knowledge, experiences and stories along the way. What started as a five-month Service Learning Programme also laid the foundation for a growing partnership with ITE College East. Over the following years, we welcomed ITE interns who contributed further to The Circular Classroom's activities and development.
