National Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate our love for Singapore and our community than by creating something special together! For our monthly workshop with the seniors at THK Active Ageing Centre at Cassia, we turned zippers from pre-loved school uniform skirts and trousers into little handmade flowers. This time, the activity was a little more challenging. The zippers were small, the work was intricate, and every flower required patience and careful handsewing. Some steps were quite tedious, but everyone persevered and helped bring our collective artwork to life. Over two hours, flower by flower, we created a beautiful big heart in Singapore's national colours of red and white. A heart made from materials that would otherwise have gone to waste, and shaped by the hands of our wonderful seniors. Happy Birthday, Singapore!
