How can digital technology strengthen sustainability education, volunteer engagement and community action? During Semester 2/2026, The Circular Classroom will collaborate with six Final Year Project students from SMU's School of Computer and Information Systems to design and develop an integrated digital platform that supports sustainability programmes delivered across schools and communities. A bit thank you to Lim Sim Yee, Justus Chan, Muhammad Haziq Bin Ramlan, Celeste Ong, Dessy and Aiden Ang who will help build a digital system that streamlines activity coordination, strengthens volunteer engagement, tracks contributions and captures environmental and social impact. The project combines elements of software development, data analytics, user experience design and community engagement. Students will support The Circular Classroom to work on real-world challenges such as volunteer matching, impact dashboards, knowledge-sharing systems, automated communications and gamification features that encourage long-term participation. By developing digital tools that support sustainability initiatives at scale, students contribute to building stronger connections between schools, communities and volunteers, while helping advance environmental stewardship and civic participation through technology.
